Backgrounds
Give the deck behind the keys a colour, or a gradient of up to five that drifts, flows or breathes.
Turn the background on
By default the keys sit on the keyboard's own material. Open Background and switch it on for a colour of your own or a gradient of up to five.
Colours
A solid is one colour. A gradient takes up to five, in the order they run. Tap a swatch to change it.
Gradient shape
| Linear | Drag the handle to turn the direction the colours run in. |
|---|---|
| Radial | A glow from one point on the deck's edge, fading outward. Drag the handle to move it round the edge. |
| Angular | The colours sweep around the centre of the deck. Drag the handle to turn where the sweep starts. |
Motion
| Drift | The gradient slowly turns, a full circle each loop. |
|---|---|
| Flow | The colours glide along the gradient and loop back round. |
| Breathe | The colours gather towards the middle and spread out again. |
Good to knowWith Reduce Motion on, the background holds still on the keyboard and in the app. It still moves for anyone you share the keyboard with.
Match the globe strip
iOS draws its own strip with the globe key below every keyboard. Leaving the background off keeps NuKey's material matched to it, which looks cleanest on most phones.
