Languages and layouts
Forty-seven languages, QWERTY/QWERTZ/AZERTY arrangements, and typing in two or three languages without switching.
Add a language
Open Languages. Browse layouts by writing system, then tap one to enable it. Tap a layout to choose which one the keyboard starts in. The footer shows what is on and where you start.
- Open Languages.
- Enable one or more layouts.
- Tap the one you want to start in.
Switch while typing
With more than one layout on, a translate glyph above the keys switches between them. You can also turn on the Language switcher utility key in Keys, or flick right on the space bar.
Write in several languages at once
Pick up to two more languages for a layout. The keyboard then corrects and predicts in whichever one you are writing, with no switching.
QWERTY, QWERTZ or AZERTY
Arrangement is decoupled from language. You can put any language's letters on QWERTY, QWERTZ or AZERTY keys, and corrections, predictions and accents stay in that language.
If the switcher is empty
Your languages reach the keyboard through Allow Full Access. If the switcher stays empty, turn it on in Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → NuKey.
