NuKey Adapt

A keyboard that learns where your fingers land and quietly moves each invisible touch target to meet them.

The idea

Your keycaps stay perfectly still. Underneath, NuKey observes where confident taps land, and once a key has enough consistent evidence its invisible target can move a small, bounded distance toward you. Every key learns, including Space, Shift, Delete and Return.

Turn it on

  1. Open NuKey Adapt from the home hub and switch on Learn consistent landing patterns and help likely next letters.
  2. Type normally for a day or two. Learning is gradual: a key needs repeated evidence before its target moves.
  3. Return to NuKey Adapt to see Your touch map, which shows what is changing beneath the keys.

Reading your touch map

The map compares each key's Original target with its Effective target. The preview magnifies target movement three times so small, real-world adjustments stay visible.

What it does

Learns where you landIf you repeatedly strike one side of a key, NuKey can listen slightly closer to that side.
Uses word contextLikely next letters receive a small, temporary advantage where neighbouring targets meet.
Stays invisibleKeycaps never jump or resize. Only the touch decision beneath them changes.

Touch sensitivity

The Touch accuracy group in the Keys menu has a Touch sensitivity control, so you can tune how the keyboard reads your touches.

Privacy and sync

Learning happens on the phone. Bounded per-key aggregates can sync through your private iCloud account so Adapt is restored after reinstalling. Typed words and individual touch points are never included, and NuKey Adapt is free.

Starting afresh

To start again, open the NuKey Adapt card and tap Start learning again, then Erase and Relearn to confirm. The Keys menu has the same reset under Touch accuracy: press and hold Reset personal calibration for about a second. Either one erases every learned touch target on this device and, through iCloud, on your other devices. Visible keys are not affected, and Adapt begins observing again from nothing.
